王维晚年虔心向佛，“退朝之后，焚香独坐，以禅诵为事”。他或许获得了解脱，但是否找到快乐？我认为他的快乐源于对人生、对社会变迁的醒悟，并将其融入其天才的创作。

独坐悲双鬓，空堂欲二更。
雨中山果落，灯下草虫鸣。
白发终难变，黄金不可成。
欲知除老病，唯有学无生。

Sitting alone on an empty night,
I lament on my hair turning white.
Wild fruits are dropping in the rain,
Insects chirping in the lamp light.
Time lapses and can’t return,
Youth magic can’t be learned.
To find the way to eternal life,
Forget the existence of yourself.
