Awakening the Heart: Humility — A Whisper of the Soul to the Light

Humility is not self-deprecation, nor is it retreat.
It is a reverence for universal order after understanding the truth, and a compassion toward all beings.

True strength is not in loud declarations,
but in the clarity and peace found in a lowered head.
Like a mountain spring — the closer it flows to the earth, the clearer it becomes.
Like a meditation stone in the wind — enduring for a thousand years without a word.

In cultivation, we often believe we’ve understood something,
but the more we cultivate, the more we realize:
True enlightenment comes from letting go of the pride in “I know.”
For the Great Way is formless, the Fa encompasses all;
only with the heart of an empty cup can we hold the wisdom and grace of heaven and earth.

Humility keeps us from arrogance and attachment,
helps us gaze at the stars amidst the night, and remember our origin amidst the dust.
It is not weakness, but a sign of a soul that has matured —
a threshold to ascend toward higher realms.
