In ancient times, archery was considered one of the Six Arts a gentleman (or “junzi”) should master—calligraphy, mathematics, rites, music, chariot riding, and archery. But in this story, we see that not everyone is born eagle-eyed and steady-handed. Sometimes, for the arrows to fly true, it takes a fall from grace, some help from a Taoist master, and even a few years in a parallel dimension.
